In the year 1919, Mr J. Vergalle set up as a plumber in Oudenaarde. The rough weather conditions made
people search for an item that could be manufactured during winter season. It became accessories, such as mangers for poultry farms,
wheelbarrows, bread boxes and stovepipes. At the beginning it was merely handicraft, later was moved on to a more automated production.
The definite start of the company however, was after the Second World War.

Since 1974, we concentrate exclusively on the production of tubes for air conditioning, dust extraction and heating.
Initially, they were only rectangular ducts, later the company was the first and only company in Belgium to produce the spiral ducts
manufactured from strip steel with a folded spiral seam.

In 1980, the production unit moved to the Kortrijkstraat in Oudenaarde, where there was an ever evolving increase of
personnel, productivity and product development. Every possible accessory, suspension system and frame profile was manufactured
in-house.

In 1988, the present NV. AIRKAN was founded under the management of Mr Luc Tsjoen. Very soon the company
premises in the Kortrijkstraat also became to small and there was decided in favour for the construction of a new industrial building with
modern administrative offices. The company mainly produces rectangular and circular air ducts, frame profiles, accessories that are
especially used in the industrial sector, in banks, hospitals, cultural centres, sports centres and blocks of flats.

A CAD CAM control system, together with CIM computer-controlled machinery and fully automatic plasma cutters, guarantee an optimum
productivity and a superior quality. AIRKAN has the finest technology at its disposal to supply ducts in accordance with everybody's
wishes and to size. |
